Police have confirmed that a 21-year-old man has been charged following an alleged incident this morning involving X Factor judge, and one-half of party crew LMFAO, Redfoo.

The altercation, described in official reports as a "glassing", occurred about 12.30am this morning, at the Golden Sheaf Hotel in Double Bay. According to police, the 21-year-old approached a 39-year-old man, later identified as the wild-haired TV personality/entertainer, before reportedly "throwing a glass" at him, inflicting a cut to his face.

Rose Bay Local Area Command police officers were called to the hotel, on New South Head Road, soon afterwards, where the alleged attacker was handed over to police by security guards who had stopped him trying to flee. He was consequently arrested and taken to Waverley Police Station.

The 21-year-old has since been charged with malicious wounding and was granted conditional bail; he's due to face Waverley Local Court on September 24.

Redfoo, for his part, hasn't said much about the incident online, responding to one well-wisher, "Jealousy's a hell of a drug!", and, speaking to Sunrise this morning, he commented on the suddenness of the alleged assault: "I was dancing with my crew and all of a sudden I just felt — BAM — something hit me in the head."

He has since thanked his fans in Australia and abroad for their support following reports of the incident.
