More Jack Carty More Jack Carty

Sydney-by-way-of-Bellingen-bred singer-songwriter Jack Carty is not a man to do things by halves — so it should come as no surprise that, when he makes an announcement, he makes it a big one. The stalwart troubadour has, as such, unveiled today not only the release date and details for his forthcoming third full-length album, but a national tour as well, all backed up by a brand new song.

Carty's impending Aussie sojourn, proudly presented by The Music, gets under way off the mainland at The Grand Poobah, Hobart, on Sunday, October 12, and will take the The Joneses scribe through stages in Brisbane, Auckland, Perth, Melbourne and Adelaide before he goes homeward bound to wrap things up at Venue 505 on Saturday, December 13.

He'll have barely two weeks off prior to the tour between the September 26 release (via Inertia) of his third full-length album, Esk and setting out for Tassie — and that's on top of already having spent a considerable chunk of time on the road this year alongside contemporaries Josh Pyke and Katie Noonan.

Amid all of that, he's still found the time and wherewithal to shore up the release of fresh cut Be Like The Water, a sinister-sounding composition that nonetheless sees Carty's shining trademark voice work remain the constant light amid the darkness. Have a listen to the new song below:
