Screaming Jets Lead Airlie Beach Music Festival Line-Up

The fledgling festival has secured several other high-profile acts to fill out its 2014 roster

The second annual Airlie Beach Music Festival is less than three months away, and as such is getting its wheels in motion early with the announcement that it has secured Aussie rock icons The Screaming Jets as one of its major drawcards for this November’s event.

More than 250 musicians will be stepping up to ABMF stages this year, with key acts joining The Screaming Jets in the event’s big-top tent (at the Whitsunday Sailing Club) including the likes of Mark Seymour, of Hunters & Collectors fame, Jon English, 1927, Eurogliders, John Paul Young, The Radiators, Shane Howard (Goanna), Phil Emmanuel, Mal Eastick and Kevin Borich.

Punters will also be treated to main-tent appearances from acclaimed bands and artists such as 8 Ball Aitken, Wanita Queen Of Honky Tonk, Mason Rack Band, Blue Ruins, Hill Billy Goats, Lance Friend, The Bostocks, King and some yet-to-be-announced surprises hanging just around the corner.

There are a few benefits to being a ticket-holder to Airlie Beach Music Festival, which somewhat specially has a few free events on offer throughout its duration – namely, the ability to bar-hop your way around the main street and enjoy free transport to the further-flung venues on the festival list, while also being guaranteed entry to every venue across the board and given access to free transport at the conclusion of each day’s proceedings. There are only 3000 of those puppies up for grabs, though, and given previous years’ performances, the $260 three-day passes are likely to be snapped up in a hurry.

Airlie Beach Music Festival’s sophomore event goes down across 18 venues in Airlie Beach over the three days from November 7 to November 9 this year. See our dedicated event page for all your Airlie Beach fest news and info needs.
