Beyond The Valley Announce Line-Up For NYE Phillip Island Festival

12 August 2014 | 12:55 pm | Staff Writer

Golden Features, POND, Dillon Francis, Midnight Juggernauts and more

We gave you the first taste of Beyond The Valley last month by confirming two acts on the bill, and now the festival has dropped its massive first artist announcement, including POND, Rüfüs, Golden Features, Dillon Francis and Midnight Juggernauts.

Delivering on their initial promise of a “cohesive spread”, an eclectic mix of artists are set to grace the two day, two-stage New Year’s Eve extravaganza on Phillip Island, December 30 and 31.

Here’s who punters will be ringing in the new year with:

Action Bronson, Alunageorge, Bag Raiders (DJ set), Bakermat, Ball Park Music, Banoffee, Basenji, Claptone, Collarbones, Cosmo’s Midnight, Dillon Francis, Fractures, Friend Within, Ganz, Golden Features, Goldlink, Husky, HWLS, Kant, Kaytranda, KLO, Lurch & Chief, Midnight Juggernauts, , Motez, Nina Las Vegas, Peking Duk, Pleasurekraft, POND, Rüfüs, Sinjin Hawke, Sylan Esso, The Preatures, Thomas Jack, Vancouver Sleep Clinic, Willow Beats, Yumi Zouma

It’s not just about music, though, and even before they dropped a massive line-up for the inaugural event things were shaping up nicely. Boutique beer, cocktail bars, and gourmet food will be on offer, as well as camping options and VIP packages, all with views of rolling hills and lush scenery with a pop-up luxury hotel featuring its own concierge and A-grade amenities, and a daily hangover spa.

Action Bronson

One of the first acts confirmed for the festival, chef-turned-rapper Action Bronson knows all about the connections between gourmet food and music. The rhyme-smith was forced to cancel an Australian tour earlier year due to scheduling conflicts, so no doubt he’ll be the talk of the festival – especially if he pulls something like this again..

Rüfüs

Their wish to be taken across the ocean has been granted, and the chart-topping hit machine that is Rüfüs fits the bill perfectly with their dreamy indie dance tunes. Beyond The Valley will see the end of a crazy year for the Sydney outfit, who sold out almost every date on their mid-year headline tour.

Dillon Francis

We saw him on the festival stage earlier this year for Big Day Out in the Boiler Room, and with his blend of reggaeton and electro house, LA producer Dillon Francis was one of the pioneers of moombahton and moombahcore. He’s also great when it comes to collaborations.

Golden Features

The much-hyped Sydney producer came out of nowhere earlier this year with a self-titled, four-track EP and took the dance realm by storm, recently taking on Splendour In The Grass. He’s been scoring some decent airtime, so you might know him from the EP’s lead single Tell Me, which features Nicole Miller.

POND

Perth-bed psychedelica act POND have been touring abroad for a large portion of the year, conquering festivals around the world. As the tour cycling for their fifth album, Hobo Rocket, dies down, they turn their sites onto album number six, Man, It Feels Like Space Again, which was recorded one month after its predecessor.
