Time to say goodbye to Jake, Stav and... the rest

More Bluejuice More Bluejuice

The fun-loving boys of Bluejuice have announced that they're bringing the party to a close at the end of the year, and they're commemorating their thirteen-year run of revelry with the release of a new single, a retrospective full-length album and the revelation of a national farewell tour this September/October.

The first stage of saying goodbye to the creators of one-time anthem Broken Leg comes in the form of new single I'll Go Crazy, one of a handful of new tracks set to appear on Retrospectable, a collection of the band's best tracks from their three full-length records — Problems (2007), their breakthrough Head Of The Hawk (2009) and Company (2011) — and "some extra treats and pleasures". The single was produced by Dann Hume of Sticky Fingers/Alpine, and was co-written by Alex Burnett and frontman Jake Stone.

It's not officially out yet, so enjoy some slightly-less-recent-but-still-pretty-fresh Bluejuice action before we talk tour dates.

The complementary Retrospectable farewell tour kicks off sooner than you'd think, on September 25, at Adelaide's Uni Bar, with a licensed all-ages showing to get festivities under way. From there, the tour rolls through Perth, Karratha (for the Red Earth Arts Festival), Brisbane, Coolangatta, Byron Bay, Melbourne (including a second, under-18s, matinee show), Mulgrave, Geelong, Wollongong, Canberra, and Newcastle before rolling into the band's home town of Sydney for their final, licensed all-ages, show, which goes down at the Metro Theatre on Friday, October 24.

See a gallery of Bluejuice doing their thing at the Metro to get an idea of what you can expect for the final (broken) leg — at least.

Tickets are available through a variety of outlets — check the Gig Guide or The Music App for all the date, venue and purchase details you need.
