"I'm with the band"

More The Cat Empire More The Cat Empire

For their upcoming Australian tour, The Cat Empire are giving one lucky punter in each state the chance to join them onstage for a song.

The multi-genre mixers hit the road this September, and are currently accepting video submissions via their website. Submissions can be of any tune you like, but no longer than two minutes, and just so you don’t unintentionally end up being a viral hit, note the band will post the video to their Facebook page, “so everyone's going to see”.

Winners will be picked by the band, with vocalist/trumpeter frontman Harry Angus leading the project.

They’ll be inviting at least one entrant from each state to join them onstage for a song of the winner’s choice, and any instrument they want, as well as scoring a backstage pass for themselves and a friend.

“We'll sort out all the musical details a few weeks before the show, and you'll attend sound check on show day to rehearse and meet us first, so you’ll have plenty of time to prepare,” the band said.

“If you live in a regional town or a state we aren’t visiting on this tour, we’ll get you and your plus one to the closest show and put you both up for the night close to the venue.”

The tour kicks off Friday 26 September at Fremantle Arts Centre. See the Gig Guide or check The Music App for all other dates and ticketing info.
