The prodigious artist has a brand new track for your waiting ears as well

Online sensation Thrupence, who set Bandcamp alight with his EP Voyages two years ago, has been revealed as the newest signing to acclaimed Aussie label Future Classic, and he’s got a brand new track to show you to mark the occasion.

With his debut LP, Lessons, peeking ever-more over the horizon, the signing and release of fresh new cut Don’t You Mind come at a time of career confluence for the 23-year-old Melbourne artist, known to his mum as Jack Vanzet.

A series of old-timey samples (including from renowned bluesman Son House and his track Grinning In Your Face) cut and jump over an easy walking beat as Thrupence’s mature-beyond-his-years grasp of dynamics and arrangement conspire to create a trip-hop-dappled, chilled-out stroller of a song, perfect equally for casual jaunts through the city on a grey day, or lazy Sundays in the sun.
