More Husky More Husky

Australian music legend Tim Rogers, Melburnian indie-folk darlings The Paper Kites, ubiquitous threesome Husky and 23-year-old airwaves conqueror Meg Mac have been announced as the esteemed acts set to fill the 2014 Dungog Festival’s music program.

Rogers, the iconic frontman of You Am I and a multiple ARIA Award winner, will play a solo show at the Settlers Arms Hotel on Friday, August 29, which will be backed up the following evening by The Paper Kites, Husky, and Meg Mac’s three-way dance at Dungog High School.

The Paper Kites (pictured) have done well enough for themselves since the release of their debut LP States to have traversed the US and Canada as well as placing in the top 20 on the ARIA Albums Chart, and with two sold-out Sydney shows behind them this year already, you know they’ve got the chops to bring the goods when they step out on August 30.

Crazy-acclaimed fellow Melburnians Husky, meanwhile, are pretty much everywhere right now – they very recently launched a national tour of their own, and will be appearing at Sydney Craft Beer Week in October – so will be well warmed up to light up the stage, while Meg Mac will do much to make you feel like an unproductive piece of crap when she wows your kids at DHS with all the accomplishments she’s tucked away before her 24th birthday.

The inaugural Dungog Festival will grace the Hunter Valley from August 28-31, and will showcase film, food, music and the spirit of local community to provide the renowned region with a comprehensive cultural experience to be talked about at least until the next one rolls around.

Tickets for the 2014 Dungog Festival are on sale now via the event website.
