PREMIERE: Get Down With The Night Party's 'Black Is The Night'

Not just down, but dirty too.

If you don’t know what the words “swamp boogaloo” mean when lined up side-by-side like that, then today is your lucky day, because we have just the ticket to get you acquainted – the premiere airing of Black Is The Night, the new single from Melbourne-bred purveyors of southern-fried, soul-soaked dirty rock The Night Party.

Comprised of troubadour twosome Buck Lexton and Rick Sands, The Night Party are all about getting in touch with your vintage side, with their driven strains sounding like they were plucked straight out of the perfect seedy bar forty or so years ago, with the pair’s heavy ‘60s influences coming effortlessly to the fore throughout Black Is The Night.

The negative lens filter gives the clip an endemically trippy quality, its repetitive, rhythmic shots of performance fragments, muscle cars, choreographed claps and other miscellaneous imagery serving as a backdrop to the tune itself – taken from the pair’s recently released debut studio full-length Get To You – rather than the other way around.

Have a peek at the outcome of their hard work below:
