Aussies takeover this week's charts

More Sia XXX More Sia XXX

There's a distinct Aussie feel in this week's ARIA Albums Chart, with Sia leading the way at number one. It's Sia's first number one album here.

The Adelaide-bred, now internationally-adored singer-songwriter debuted in the top position this week with her first record in four years, 1000 Forms Of Fear bumping last week's number one 5 Seconds Of Summer and their self-titled LP down to four. The independently released record — out via Monkey Puzzle/Inertia — also held-off Brit Ed Sheeran and his latest album X, this week inching back up to two.

The other big news out of this week's figures is the success of fellow Adelaide-originated artist, rapper Allday. The MC landed at three with his debut studio-length album Startup Cult. Other Aussies in the ten were Hillsong (No Other Name), who slipped from two to five, and country darlings The McClymonts, whose new LP Here's To You & Me impressively debuted in eighth spot (it's their third top ten album).

As also predicted in the midweek figures, New Zealander Lorde enjoyed a jump up the charts thanks to her current Aussie tour — Pure Heroine, her 2013 debut album moved into 11 from 18. Brisbane rockers Violent Soho's tour also had a similar impact on their chart movements — Hungry Ghost jumped from 42 to 28 in a week.

Other debuts this week came from American R&B singer Trey Songz with Trigga in at 21 and Sydney instrumental-rock outfit sleepmakeswaves landing at 31 with Love Of Cartography.

Something For Kate also re-charted three of their re-issued back catalogue in the Top 50 this week as the Melbourne band's anniversary tour moves around the country: Leave Your Soul To Science (44); Echolalia (45) and Beautiful Sharks (50).

The Digital Albums Chart finds some artists debuting that didn't land in the top 50 of the main Albums Chart, including Magic!'s Don't Kill The Magic in at 38, local act Fractures' self-titled EP at 41, Lewis Watson's the morning at 48 and The Acid's Liminal at 50.

The end of Justice Crew's record-breaking ARIA number one run has come this week, with Good Charlotte and The Voice personalities The Madden Brothers knocking the Aussie dance crew off their perch. The Madden Brothers' We Are Done pushed Justice Crew's Que Sera down to second, preventing it from equalling another record.

Iggy Azalea collaborator Ariana Grande enjoyed the highest singles debut of the week — her track Break Free, featuring Zedd, landed at three, with Sheeran again close behind at four with Don't. Sia rounded out the top five with Chandelier.

Also as predicted, rapper 360 climbed up the charts slightly with his latest Gossling collab, Price Of Fame moving from 27 to 22, while US singer-songwriter Andy Grammer jumped from 39 to 27 with his single Back Home.

Aussie electro-crooner Chet Faker debuted at 40 with his new track Gold, while other debuts this week came from: GRLUgly Heart (41); Johnny RollinsStay With Me (48) and Gabriel & CeciliaSmells Like Teen Spirit (50).
