She's the second muso to come on-board this season, after Marilyn Manson

Cult Shakespearean bike-gang drama Sons Of Anarchy will welcome polarising performer Courtney Love to its cast for a “pivotal” multi-episode arc during its seventh and final season.

The news was first broken by TV Line, with host US pay-TV channel FX soon reposting links to it across social media, implicitly stating their confirmation of the revelation.

Reportedly making her debut in the fourth episode of the season, Love will be stepping out for the first time on the small screen to play Ms Harrison, the no-nonsense preschool teacher of Abel, the eldest son of show protagonist Jax (Charlie Hunnam), with TV Line hinting that her arrival will likely give rise to some friction with Abel's mother, Wendy (Drea de Matteo).

Given her controversial career, it's easy to forget that Love actually won serious acclaim (as well as a Golden Globe nomination) for her role in The People Vs Larry Flynt alongside Woody Harrelson in 1996, as well has appearing in the Jim Carrey-driven Andy Kaufman biopic Man On The Moon and Kiefer Sutherland's Beat.

This isn't the first time Sons Of Anarchy has tapped the musical talent well for its roster of rag-tag rebels, either, with the recent announcement that shock-rocker Marilyn Manson would be assuming a key role in the final season being the most recent example of the show's relationship with the melodic world, not to mention a showing from Henry Rollins, and Dave Navarro's multi-episode appearance back in seasons five and six.

Season seven of Sons Of Anarchy will air later this year. In the meantime, there's a fresh new teaser floating about to get your engine raring for its final lap.
