Pretty damn pro, actually

More Marcia Hines More Marcia Hines

Iconic Aussie-claimed pop chanteuse Marcia Hines has shown that you're never too old to have fun in her freshly dropped clip for her new single, Remedy, directed by (and co-starring) none other than Oscar-winning actor and part-time muso Russell Crowe.

The song, sourced from Hines' latest acclaimed LP, Amazing, is a driven, rock-steeped soul romp replete with boisterous brass, Hines' unmistakeable cadence and Crowe's TOFOG-refined yelp-growl, all set against a backdrop of the world's least harried, but best co-ordinated, emergency room.

The video's release comes simultaneously with the exciting announcement that Hines will be making her return to the touring circuit alongside her freshly minted six-piece backing band, led by producer and songwriting partner Tom Diesel.

The mammoth near-two-month run of shows commences at Bangalow's The Bowlo on July 31, and takes in venues in Tweed Heads, Brisbane, Ettalong Beach, Hurlstone Park, Sydney, Melbourne, Albury, Warragul, Bunbury, Perth, Adelaide and Launceston, before wrapping up in Hobart on September 6.

The extensive trip promises to be a watershed journey for Hines, who recently celebrated her 40th anniversary as an entertainer, with career achievements to her name including a top-five cover of James Taylor's Fire And Rain, 18 albums, 29 singles (seven of which reached top-ten status), more than 2.6 million sales, and, of course, the past seven years spent as a familiar small-screen face on Australian Idol.
