Rolf Harris Sentenced To Over Five Years In Jail

A British Crown Court judge has sentenced Australian entertainer Rolf Harris to five years and nine months in jail for indecently assaulting four girls.

Harris was found guilty of 12 charges earlier this week and has since been stripped of many of the honours bestowed upon him during his career, including his ARIA Hall Of Fame induction.

However, the judge handing down the sentence today also announced that half of it would be non-custodial - meaning Harris would not have to spend the entire sentence behind bars.

During the sentencing, the judge told Harris, "You have shown no remorse for your crimes at all.

"Your reputation lies in ruins, you have been stripped of your honours, but you have no-one to blame but yourself."
