'Shooting From The Bell Tower' heralds the return of the royally excellent power-pop trio

West Australian power-pop trio Emperors are making their return to the popular conscious with a bang, simultaneously announcing the release of anthemic new cut Shooting From The Bell Tower as well as a run of national tour dates this August.

The track marks the band's first released since their lauded 2012 debut LP Stay Frosty, and demonstrates the growth of composition and character undergone by the musicians of Emperors while remaining encouragingly familiar, like getting a big hug from a close relative you haven't seen in a few years and grew their hair out real nicely.

Have a listen to your newest taste of royal goodness below:

Proudly presented by theMusic.com.au, Emperors' August tour will kick off at Adelaide's Rocket Bar on Friday, August 1, and see them wind their way through appearances in Melbourne (August 2), Bunbury's Prince Of Wales Hotel (August 7), a home-state show at Perth's Amplifier Bar (August 9), and The Waiting Room, in Brisbane (August 15) before wrapping up at Sydney's Brighton Up Bar on August 16.

They've accrued a fine array of support acts for the sojourn as well, with Jimmy And The Mirrors and Singles joining them in Adelaide, Split Seconds, Jonesez and Skyways Are Highways for the Melbourne leg, Pat Chow in Bunbury, Chow again the following night in Perth with Lionizer and Childsaint, alongside Tape/Off and Waax in Brissy, with The Upskirts, Horror My Friend and Maids filling out the ranks for the final show in Sydney.

It all amounts to shape up like a massive back half of 2014 for the resurgent rockers, who are building on the live and studio experiences they've amassed over the past few years while presently being hard at work on their sophomore full-length album, set to be released later this year. We're excited to see where things go from here.
