The 'Horrible Bosses 2' Trailer Is Better Than You'd Expect

...especially considering we weren't really asking for this movie

The hapless white-collar schlubs played by Jason Bateman, Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis in 2011's surpringly competent manager-murdering comedy Horrible Bosses are officially on the way back, with Warner Bros. Pictures releasing the very first look at forthcoming sequel Horrible Bosses 2 on YouTube overnight.

Somewhat surprisingly, the follow-up film looks like it could match – if not surpass – the first, with any trepidation about what possible reason central characters Nick, Dale and Kurt could have for continuing to dabble in illicit shenanigans after the disasters of the first film melt away as we're treated to return performances by Kevin Spacey's now-incarcerated Dave Harkin, Jennifer Aniston's still-sexually-inappropriate Julia Harris, and Jamie Foxx's inimitable doyen of dodgy dealings, Motherfucker Jones.

There's no sign of Colin Farrell for this run – kind of hard given how his character ended up last time – but esteemed thespian of the moment Christoph Waltz joins the cast as the shady investor who rips off the central trio and winds up at the bad end of a trunk-based kidnapping as a result.

Have a watch of the trailer, which, yes, once more finds Bateman, Day and Sudeikis seemingly just playing exaggerated versions of themselves (poor Bateman; forever the straight man), but more importantly, is surprising, encouraging and endearing in its silly premise and earnest promise.
