Sia's momentum continues ahead of her new album's release

Internationally-adored singer-songwriter Sia has made her way to the top of the Carlton Dry Independent Music Charts again this week, with two songs sitting at the higher-end of the singles/EPs Independent Labels Through Any Distribution chart.

Her global hit Chandelier is number one this week, while new track Big Girls Cry (both through Monkey Puzzle/Inertia) debuted at four.

Indie-pop six-piece Sheppard moved down to second with their chart-topping anthem Geronimo (Independent/MGM), while rapper Illy's Tightrope (ONETWO/Warner) single placed third. Hillsong Worship enjoyed the only other debut with their album No Other Name (Hillsong Music/Sony Music Entertainment), which entered at 14.

Over to the albums and dance trio RUFUS held onto their top position with Atlas (Sweat It Out/Sony Music Entertainment), edging out the new record from Confession. The hardcore outfit's somewhat controversial Life And Death (Resist Records/Universal Music Australia) LP debuted at two.

Electro crooner Chet Faker stayed impressive with third place via his 2014 LP Built On Glass (Future Classic/Warner). Singer and TV personality David Campbell enjoyed a big bump up the chart with his new release David Campbell Sings John Bucchino (Social Family Records/EMI). The album jumped from 17 to four in a week. Legendary pub rockers The Angels rounded out the top five with their compilation 40 Years Of Rock – Vol 1: 40 Greatest Studio Hits (Liberation/Universal Music Australia).

Moving over to the Independent Labels Through Any Distribution chart and it was also all about Sia and Sheppard, with Chandelier and Geronimo in first and second again.

Sia's Big Girls Cry debuted at three while one of the other tracks off her 1000 Forms Of Fear album (out his week) – Eye Of The Needle (Monkey Puzzle/Inertia) – in at six. Sheppard's self-titled EP remained near the top at five, with the RUFUS track Sundream (Sweat It Out/Xelon) in at five.

Two tracks released through Pieater/Inertia enjoyed debuts this week too with #1 DadsReturn To and Splendour In The Grass-bound AirlingThe Runner in at 18 and 19 respectively.

On the albums front, hip hop crew Thundamentals maintained their hold of the top spot via So We Can Remember (Obese Records), with Chet Faker appearing again at two with his 2012 released collection Thinking In Textures (Opulent/Inertia).

Roots and blues favourites John Butler Trio scored third place through LP Flesh & Blood (Jarrah/MGM), while Sia once again popped up at four with her Best Of… (Monkey Puzzle) compilation.

Rapper Joelistics scored the highest indie album debut this week – his record Blue Volume (Elefant Traks/Inertia) entered impressively at six. Melbourne band Total Control debuted at nine with Typical System (Independent/Inertia) – the record was last week's triple j feature album. Country stalwart Graeme Connors also debuted this week with greatest hits package North – 25 Years On – Collectors Edition (Independent/WJO) landing at 11.
