ARIA Award-winning entertainer Russell Morris has announced that he will be taking his acclaimed recent LP Van Diemen's Land – which made it into The Music's list of the top 25 albums of 2014 so far – on the road for three main event-level shows and a slew of regional back-ups from early August.

Following the wild acclaim of 2012's award-winning Sharkmouth, the first part in what is taking shape as an unofficial “Australiana” trilogy, Van Diemen's Land missed no beats in terms of aesthetically linking the albums and recounts vivid tales of even more vivid people and events such as Breaker Morant, Sandakan, the Eureka Stockade and more.

Van Diemen's Land stormed on to the ARIA Album Chart at #4, and is still hanging around in the Top 40 three months on. It's a milestone worth celebrating, and that's just what Morris and his band intend to do when they bring their new goods and well-loved ones such as The Real Thing, Sweet Love, Hush and Wings Of An Eagle with them on tour.

The main shows of the tour kick off at Melbourne's The Palms at Crown on Friday, August 8, and head on to Geelong for a show at The Wool Exchange on August 9, with the third falling at Sydney's York Theatre, Seymour Centre, on August 16.
