More Grimes More Grimes

Enigmatic Canadian artist Claire Boucher, aka Grimes, has unveiled her first new work in almost two years as a gift to her fans.

Featuring good friend Mike Tucker, aka Blood Diamonds, Go was one of three new tracks that made their debut at Grimes' recent performance at the famed Governors Ball festival in New York, and is purported to be the track that Grimes originally intended for Rihanna.

Have a listen below:

Grimes has stuck to the DIY approach with this track, not only creating the accompanying art work – “weirdly a prophesy cuz the two people in the painting are mikes girlfirend hana (a musical genius who will hopefully release her music soon) and ray (also a musical genius) who mixed the song and mixed all my live tracks among other things - but i started this painting before i met either of them,” she posted on Tumblr – but, for the first time, was also in charge of the artistic direction of her press photography, shot by her brother Mac, with the end result being the look of “an anime elf assassin who is a big fan of Dolly Parton and Patsy Cline”, she said.

Go gets the ball rolling on new work for Grimes' follow-up to 2012's acclaimed LP Visions, which she is presently putting together – even if she's kind of over it, at this point:

“[Go is] our summer jam so we figured we should put it out cuz I am very bored of waiting to finish my album b4 releasing new music haha,” she said in a statement.
