More Linkin Park More Linkin Park

File this one under "morbid curiosity" -- Joe Hahn, the founding turntablist of nu-metal veterans Linkin Park, is all set to make his cinematic directorial debut, now that he has secured distribution rights for his film Mall, starring Law & Order: Criminal Intent's Vincent D'Onofrio.

Hahn actually has a bit of movie experience to his name, having provided tunes for films such as Transformers and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, and he's used that nous to reach an agreement with fledgling film house Paragon Pictures.

Paragon, which was launched by Osiris Entertainment late last year, has previously distributed films such as Perfect Sisters, starring Abigail Breslin and Georgie Henley, Bottled Up, and Twenty8K. Hahn's film also stars Gina Gershon (Cocktail), Cameron Monaghan (Shameless), Peter Stormare (Fargo), and James Frecheville (Animal Kingdom), who with D'Onofrio form the core cast of five "disaffected suburbanites" who find their lives entangled in the wake of an apparently random shooting at a mall.

D'Onofrio serves as the film's producer, alongside Silver Lining Entertainment's Sam Maydew, and also assisted in adapting the script.

Hahn's most recent directorial work was for two Linkin Park clips - one for New Divide, as featured in the unsalvageable Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen, and the other for recent single Until It's Gone, taken from the band's most recent LP, 2013's The Hunting Party.
