Has transferred his stake to C3 Presents

Festival promoter AJ Maddah has handed back his stake in the Big Day Out festival to its American co-owners and stepped down as Director, according to reports today.

Documents obtained by Music Feeds allegedly show that Maddah's stake has been transferred to co-owners C3 Presents, the US company behind Lollapalooza, with festival accountant Blake Kendrick instated as the festival's new director.

This afternoon theMusic.com.au's calls and text messages to an overseas Maddah and Big Day Out's CEO Adam Zammit have not been returned.

Zammit had taken over founding promoter Ken West's stake in the business less that 12 months ago and inherited a struggling festival that had another tough year in 2014.
