Let's wrap-up the past week in indie land

ON THE ROAD

South Australian mainstays The Hard Aches have announced they will be heading to WA this month to play a pair of shows from their Organs & Airports tour. Perth is the adopted home of frontman, Ben David. Read on.

Singer-songwriter Jen Cloher is set to play four headline shows across the country in July, planning to showcase tracks from last year's album In Blood Memory. They are her only headline gigs of 2014. Details.

EYE ON THE CHARTS

Adelaide-born chart-topper Sia is again at the top of the indie singles/EP chart with her anthem Chandelier (Monkey Puzzle/Inertia), with Brissy indie-pop act Sheppard also remaining in secon spot with Geronimo (Independent/MGM). Chet Faker and his track 1998 (Future Classic/Independent) pushed up one place into third, bumping Thundamentals and Something I Said featuring Thom Crawford (Obese Records) down to fourth.

Electronic hip hop artist GRIMM debuted highly this week. His track with Father Dude - Electrify (Neon/Xelon) entered at seven. Ball Park Music's latest Trippin' The Light Fantastic (Stop Start Music/Inertia) - which we premiered the video for this week - debuted at ten.

The Thundas remained at one in the indie album chart this week with LP So We Can Remember (Obese Records), along with John Butler Trio staying strong at two with Flesh & Blood (Jarrah/MGM). Chet Faker's 2012 release Thinking In Textures (Opulent/Inertia) featured around the top again, pushing into third, while The Black Sorrows stayed at fourth for another week with Certified Blue (Head Records/MGM).

OTHER RELEASE NEWS

Wollongong's neo-soul outfit Beaten Bodies have finalised preparations for their newest work, EP The Royal Road, which is out next week coming June 9. More.

Former Crayon Fields singer Geoffrey O'Connor released his new single Her Name On Every Tongue, ahead of his forthcoming album due Friday 8 August. More.

NSW sister duo Siskin River releasd the video for new single Up in anticipation of their debut full length album, which is out next month. Watch the Tim Burton-esque clip here.

Wollongong MC Cass Clay has given us the first taste of his forthcoming debut album. Portion Of Poison features the vocals of Bianca Beattie and you can stream the track now.

ARIA Award winning singer-songwriter Monique Brumby revealed her new single Silent War this week, as she prepares to hit the road for an extensive national tour. Watch the video here.

Tasmanian producer Akouo has dropped his latest track this week ahead of his nee EP release. Give Not Enough a spin now.

Sydneysiders Step-Panther revealed the name and release date for new single Nowhere, which will be out this Friday. Nowhere will be launched at some shows in Sydney and Melbourne. Read on.
