More 50 Cent More 50 Cent

Man, G-Unit works fast. Less than 24 hours after hip-hop superstar 50 Cent tweeted a vague message hinting at a long-awaited reunion for the New York icons, the quartet - and specifically its ringleader - have been accused of having MC Slow of Slowbucks beaten and robbed in front of 80,000 people.

According to XXL Mag, 50 Cent and fellow G-Unit members Tony Yayo, Lloyd Banks and Young Buck (but not The Game), made their way onto the Summer Jam stage to rapturous applause following a set from fellow heavyweight Nas, and proceeded to lay down several hits, joined on-stage by "dozens" of others. It was during this period, when rapper Fabolous was on the mic, that the alleged altercation went down.

As you can see in the video below from AllHipHop.com, as Fabolous does his thing in the foreground, an altercation goes down on the right of frame, with the burly lad in the white T-shirt stepping out of the melee with what has since been identified by multiple commentators as Slow's bulky gold chain - which 50 Cent was said to be wearing later that evening.

XXL reports that the altercation was a result of a clearance dispute - that "Slow ... was angered as security refused to let him join G-Unit on stage" - but does acknowledge that a "source at Summer Jam says that Slow has problems with one of the crew members of 50 Cent".

Yeah - 50 Cent, apparently.

As Gawker and AllHipHop tell it, the Slowbucks crew posed for a photo back in April with noted 50 rival Trav, his affilliate Meek Mill, and 50 Cent's estranged son Marquise (read: they aren't exactly close). Then they put it on Instagram. At the time, 50 posted: "This picture was a bad idea." (The comment has since been deleted or buried thoroughly by updated comments since the fracas, but there is photographic evidence of it still floating around.)

Of course, as with all such feuds, it isn't really that simple - there are elements of betrayal and feeling wronged at play, with Slowbucks not only being rappers but the duo behind an upstart clothing label... that 50 Cent helped them get off the ground.

In fact, it turns out Slowbucks were young charges of 50 Cent's way back when, so this may be little more than a case of a Mr Miyagi slapping his Daniel-san upside the head to briefly remind him who the goddamn black belt is here.

Neither 50 Cent nor Slow has officially commented on the alleged altercation since it went down, but the cheers and jeers going both ways from commentors on the rappers' social media feeds point to this one not necessarily being all quietly over and done with just yet.
