Coldplay to hold #1 on the chart this week

More Violent Soho More Violent Soho

Suddenly one of Australia's biggest bands of the year, Violent Soho are set to get another boost in the ARIA Album Chart this week with midweek figures showing they could push as high as the top 20.

Their album Hungry Ghost – a pretty subtle collection of brilliant tracks – is benefiting from blistering performances around the country and may shift up to 1,000 scans this week. A timely and well-shot video of their Groovin The Moo experiences doesn't hurt either and they continue to prove that this album has remarkable staying power.

The record has previously hit a peak of six in its 11 weeks in the top 50. It currently sits at 30 after jumping from 40 last week.

Coldplay are likely to keep their number one spot with Ghost Stories, with Sam Smith's In The Lonely Hour set to be this week's top debut inside the top ten. Other top half debuts will come from Mariah Carey's Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse, Royksopp & Robyn's Do It Again, Cher Lloyd's Sorry I'm Late and the soundtrack to The Fault In Our Stars.

The Soho aren't the only artists having a sales bump though, Pharrell Williams' G I R L, Katy Perry's Prism and soon-to-be-touring The Eagles' The Very Best Of The Eagles are all climbing up the chart.

Aussie folk singer Kim Churchill will debut around the 40 mark with Silence/Win surrounded by Kiss' Kiss 40, The Roots …And Then You Shoot Your Cousin and Neil Young's A Letter Home.

There looks to be a four-way-fight shaping up in the ARIA Singles Chart, with current number one Justice Crew's Que Sera set to have its considerable lead slashed. Current number two Milky Chance's Stolen Dance is in the hunt, as are fast charging Mr. Probz's Waves (currently eight) and Iggy Azalea featuring Charli XCX's Fancy (currently nine).

Nico & Vinz's Am I Wrong?, Dami Im's Super Love and London Grammar's Strong are all showing gains in midweek figures while One Direction's You & I will likely be the top debut around the 20 mark.

Sigma's Nobody To Love, Nicki Minaj's Pills N Potions and Tiesto featuring Matthew Koma's Wasted will also debut in the top 50.
