New marketing approach for umbrella organisation

APRA AMCOS have unveiled their new logo ahead of a full rebrand in July where the two divisions will be consolidated under the one logo.

The Australasian Performing Right Association Limited [APRA] and the Australasian Mechanical Copyright Owners Society Limited [AMCOS] first formed an alliance in 1997, with composer royalty collector APRA taking on the mechanical rights royalties collector AMCOS' day-to-day operations.

As well as consolidating the two organisations, the re-brand is the “the largest overhaul of our existing corporate image in nearly 25 years” according to Head Of Member Services Dean Ormston.

“We wanted a new look that respected our rich history and that encapsulated the dynamic sense of music creation and performance in the digital age,” he said.

The rebrand will be complete with the July launch of a new website, which will include increased social interaction, license fee calculators and music business information. The APRA Awards in June will be the first public display of the new logo and brand.

Later in the year a mobile app for songwriters to lodge and monitor their claims will be released.

An APRA AMCOS spokesperson confirmed to theMusic.com.au today that there will be no internal structural changes for APRA or AMCOS, and both will retain their separate boards.
