The ABC Music Publishing agreement will cover the troubadour's releases worldwide

Renowned Aussie musician and You Am I guitarist Davey Lane has signed his first-ever publishing deal, with ABC Music Publishing.

Following his solo debut last year with EP The Good Borne Of Bad Tymes, Lane's next release will be his partially crowd-funded full-length debut, to be released through his label, Field Recordings, later this year.

His most recent single, You're The Cops, I'm The Crime, was widely lauded upon its free digital release in February last year, its demo making swift headway on radio, ranking #8 on the AIRIT Now Charts in its first week and receiving extensive airplay on triple j and community radio across the country.

Lane's signing with ABC Music Publishing is a worldwide deal, with its coverage including everything Lane has worked on as a songwriter. This means that his entire back catalogue of songs, including those on The Good Borne Of Bad Tymes, as well as his work from his time with former band The Pictures (two albums' worth of songs) and - perhaps most impressively - previous You Am I collaborations all fall under the scope of the signing.
