Three Aussie entries this week

More Kylie Minogue More Kylie Minogue

There are three notable Australian entries into the UK singles chart this week, with two boy bands marketed to young teenagers making more of an impact than national treasure Kylie Minogue.

Sydney pop-punk group 5 Seconds Of Summer, who've recently enjoyed success in the UK and the US, debuted at 19 with their new track Good Girls, a little way ahead of Melbourne's YouTube prank troupe turned boy band Janoskians, whose Real Girls Eat Cake entered at 37.

Kylie Minogue's I Was Gonna Cancel, which debuted to mixed reactions at the Logies, was further down still, at 59.

The chart result will throw further fuel the thoughts that Minogue is struggling to have the global impact of previous eras, whilst it's yet to be seen for how long the major label trend of boy bands will prove lucrative.
