The neo-soul event is saying thank-you to a lucky early purchaser with a trip to see Maxwell perform in the US

Australia's first annual celebration of jazz, neo-soul and hip-hop, Soulfest, is going to great lengths to demonstrate it values your support, by putting up for grabs the well-impressive prize of flights, accommodation and two tickets to see festival star Maxwell perform at the Bob Carr Performing Arts Centre in Orlando, Florida, on August 2.

The prize package also includes a meet and greet with the silky-smooth singer at Soulfest itself, and it is surprisingly easy to earn your shot at snagging the loot - the festival merely asks that you purchase your Soulfest ticket before June 30 to automatically be entered in the draw.

Soulfest, which also sports the likes of D'Angelo, Common, Aloe Blacc and Mos Def among its ranks, kicks off in Australia at Sydney's Victoria Park on Saturday, October 18. Punters in Melbourne (October 19, Yarra Park), Brisbane (October 25, River Stage) and Auckland (October 26, Western Springs) are all in the running for this, so, yes, it's a pretty stacked playing field, but, by the same token, you have enter to have a shot.

You can check the event's Australian website for more information about the festival and competition, as well as to purchase your tickets. As Soulfest is a trans-ditch affair, Kiwi friends are also eligible to enter.
