Magoo's Qeensland studio and home for sale

Renowned Australian producer Lachlan Goold – aka Magoo – is selling his Queensland studio and home Applewood with an asking price of $675,000.

Located in Fernvale, 45 minutes west of Brisbane, Magoo and wife Tylea Croucher have put the property on the market after a 2012 listing failed to find a buyer.

On top of the recording studio the converted Catholic Church has three bathrooms, a media room and a swimming pool. While the sale is for the house and the grounds, the studio equipment may be negotiated on top of the listing price.

“To own and record in a church, is the dream for any producer,” Magoo said. “It is the best room I've ever had the pleasure to work in and I would love to see it carry on as a studio, if not only for selfish reasons – I would remain its most frequent customer.

“I do however feel it is time to move forward for myself and the family. I would like to downscale the Applewood Lane operation. The move will allow me more freedom to work without the pressure of running and maintaining a larger scaled studio. I would also like to establish a smaller, tailored mixing suite to maximise my work time.”

Tylea added, “Applewood has been our home, our workspace, a place where our children have grown up and a place where much great musicwas made. It is hard to let all of that go, but we know it is the best decision for us.”

The studio has hosted Saskwatch, Art Vs Science, The Jungle Giants, Tex Perkins & The Dark Horses, Her Geronimo amongst others, while Seja Vogel, Samuel Cromack, Jeremy Neale, Ian Haug, Emma Louise and Taasha Coates have been among songwriting retreats.

Magoo won an ARIA Award in 1998 for his production on Regurgitator's Unit album.
