Iggy Azalea arguably our biggest rap export ever

More Iggy Azalea More Iggy Azalea

Iggy Azalea is arguably becoming Australia's top commercial rap export of all time as the country New South Wales star pushes into the first and second position of America's download charts.

Azalea, who left Australia's mid-level scene to pursue an American-based career that has so far included everything from Beyoncé supports to tabloid rumours of an affair with Kanye West, released her latest album The New Classic in April. Debuting at three in the Billboard 200 chart, the album falls to five this week, but this week's story is in the singles.

Problem by Ariana Grande and Azalea has debuts at one on the Digital Songs ranking (a chart for the top downloaded songs across all genres), with Azalea's own track (featuring Charli XCX) Fancy jumping up to two after five weeks.

In the overall (physical and digital) Hot 100 songs chart, Problem debuts at three with Fancy now at four.

Fancy itself tops three American charts this week; R&B/Hip Hop Digital Songs, Hot Rap Songs and Rap Streaming Songs. Her album The New Classic is top of the Rap Albums and the R&B/Hip Hop Albums charts.

The New Classic debuted in the top five in the UK and just missed out on a number one Australian debut, so she's still chasing a mainstream chart #1 across the key markets.

Elsewhere in the American charts Sydney indie folk group Boy & Bear rise a spot in the influential AAA chart, with Southern Sun as Birds Of Tokyo hold 13 with Lanterns. Havana Brown's Warrior has a new peak of four in the Dance Club Play chart.

There is another Australian-based group topping charts in the US, with megachurch Hillsong UNITED leading the Hot Christian Songs and Christian Digital Songs chart with Oceans (Where Feet May Fail).
