WA exports to hit Singapore's Music Matters conference before run of headline shows at home

West Australian exports The Love Junkies have announced a run of shows around the country this June to support their recently released EP, Flight Test.

The news comes with barely time to draw breath between the Junkies touching back down at home following their acclaimed tour with Calling All Cars and setting off for the rolling horizon once more.

Following their June 2 show with The Meat Puppets, The Love Junkies kick off their headline tour on June 5 at the Prince of Wales, Bunbury, taking in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne before finishing up in Adelaide at Pirie & Co Social Club on Saturday, June 14.

Before they hit the road, though, they'll first take to the skies on their debutant international journey, which will see them perform at Singapore's Music Matters conference at the end of this month.

Flight Test arrives after a watershed year for the band, which was founded by three school mates in 2009. Aside from the release of their debut full-length Maybelene and warmly received appearances at both the Big Day Out and Groovin The Moo festivals, their singles Oxymoron and Baby Come Home did good business on triple j – good enough that the band was consequently named as the winners of the Unearthed slot at Southbound festival.

Add to that a showing at Brisbane's BIGSOUND conference last September – where they were signed to New World Artists following their strong performances – multiple nominations and wins at last year's Western Australian Music Awards (they took home breakthrough act, best rock act and best drummer), and their newly signed deal with German label Siiick Records, it's easy to see that bigger and better things await for this swiftly maturing band.
