Are you ready to promote?

The City Of Sydney wants people between the ages of 12 and 24 to begin promoting all age gigs through the Sydney Youth Music Team.

The city's council has made moves to promote the live music scene and recently agreed to adopt the 57 recommendations in the Sydney Live Music Taskforce's action plan and today they've called for new applications for to join the Youth Music Team, which has organised shows at 107 Projects, Martin Place and Cathedral Square in the past.

“It's important to start encouraging the next generation of live music performers and promoters, and the Sydney Youth Music Team is a great way to start,” said Sydney's Lord Mayor Clover Moore. “We're encouraging young people, aged 12-24, to join the team, gain invaluable insights into the live music industry, as well as creating a network of keen young music promoters and lovers.”

She said the council “wants to see Sydney's live music scene revitalised” and that the action plan recommendations will help “create new opportunities for musicians and performers and overcome obstacles to live music and performance.”
