"There is nothing delicate about this song"
Triple j's new digital radio station has launched, with Nick Cave & The Bad Seed's Get Ready For Love the first song played.
Double J Content Director Megan Loader said that the first track took “months” to decide because “there were so many great contenders”.
“We went with a seminal Australian artist who's been consistently played on triple j throughout their career. The song is a rousing, exuberant and raucous. We wanted to kick off with a bang, not a whimper, and there is nothing delicate about this song.
“The title also seemed like an appropriate catchcry to launch our new station with. Double J is fuelled by a passionate love of music, and this is the song we thought got this point across best.”

The station had been playing versions of NWA's Express Yourself for 48 hours since midday Monday, a homage to the then presenters' strike in 1989 when, Double J protested the ABC banning of NWA's Fuck Tha Police after parliament complaints.
Melbourne musician Tim Shiel has been announced as a fellow presenter alongside Myf Warhurst, who is hosting the launch broadcast live from Melbourne.
The Go-Betweens' Robert Forster will lead the first artist residency series, while former triple j presenters Caroline Tran and Karen Leng have also been confirmed.
