ON THE ROAD

The Cairos have announced a run of shows in celebration of their upcoming EP Dream Of Reason. They're playing shows throughout June and July. More.

Melbourne producer and songwriter Yeo has announced a national tour to celebrate the release of his new single Kobe and forthcoming EP. More.

EYE ON THE CHARTS

Brisbane pop act Sheppard have again held onto the top spot in the singles chart with their current hit Geronimo (Independent/MGM), edging out Sia once more, whose latest Chandelier (Monkey Puzzle/Inertia) sits at two. Sheppard's self-titled EP also crept up the chart, pushing into fifth, with two Chet Faker singles - 1998 and Talk Is Cheap (both Future Classic/Independent) sitting above it at three and four respectively.

Sydney rock band New Empire have enjoyed a great week in the indie charts, with their latest album In A Breath (Permanent Records/Shock) debuting at number one. Soul-rock quartet Bonjah also had a very impressive debut - their new album Beautiful Wild (Lemon Tree Music/Inertia) entered in at two. Another debut this week came from C3 - the Christian City Church Oxford Falls - and their new release Saints (Independent). The album entered in at six.

OTHER RELEASE NEWS

Queensland indie-pop brothers Lyon Apprentice have unveiled a new video for their latest single Be Careful. The release comes just before the guys head overseas for shows in Canada, America and Singapore. Watch it now.

You might be familiar with the name Roderick Smith – he's a former member of Newcastle outfit Firekites – well the muso has been busy working on his own, new musical project North Arm. Smith has dropped a new track under the moniker – Hollow Days – and you can listen to it here.

SIGN THE DOTTED LINE

Sydney duo We Are The Brave have penned an overseas deal this week, signing with New York label KID Recordings. They've released a new remix EP through the deal, which you can get a taste of now.

TIDBITS

Singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett made her debut on American TV this week with an appearance on NBC's The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon. Watch the performance here.

Drapht is set to headline WA's State Of The Art festival. The festival is all ages and will feature 34 of WA's finest, including Eskimo Joe, San Cisco and more. Details.
