The iconic song from The Divinyls, I Touch Myself has been turned into an anthem to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer in honour of the group's late singer Chrissy Amphlett.

The I Touch Myself project - or, as it's being branded, #itouchmyselfproject - is a dream that Amphlett had long wanted to become a reality and through the vision of her husband Charley Drayton and a number of prominent Australian female muscians, it has.

Artists such as Sarah Blasko, Kate Ceberano, Olivia Newton-John, Sarah McLeod and Katie Noonan all feature in a powerful video of the classic song, which you can find at the project's website. This version of the track can be purchased through iTunes, with proceeds going to the Cancer Council NSW. The project also hopes to raise awareness on the disease, with women around the country being encouraged to check themselves regularly for breast cancer signs and spread Amphlett's message through I Touch Myselfie's and social media discussion.

The iconic frontwoman passed away last April from effects of breast cancer and multiple sclerosis.
