It's back after a successful first year campaign

Yarra festival Leaps And Bounds will return to its city again in 2014, after a successful inaugural campaign last year.

The event, which promotes and celebrates local music from in and around Yarra, will take place from Friday 4 to Sunday 20 July. Over 40 venues will hold events throughout the festival.

A number of events from last year will return again, including the Push Freeza Summit, Music Victoria Panels, Yarra Songs at The Yarra with Jon Von Goes, but there will also be some new things happening this year to add to the festival's intriugue.

Charles Jenkins will present a night of music about Melbourne's history at The Fitzroy Reading Room, while there will be a Living Legends Series that focusses on legendary local musos who live/work in the Yarra community. Singer-songwriter Dan Brodie is also locked in to perform at six of the area's more intimate venues throughout the event.

Last year, bands such as Client Liaison, The Meanies, Even, Gold Fields and Airbourne headlined the event.

Leaps And Bounds is named after Paul Kelly's classic track 1987 track.
