The Australian and New Zealand tour for Toxic Holocaust and Skeletonwitch has been cancelled due to a “severe” ear infections affecting the hearing of the former's vocalist Joel Grind.

Intended to begin in New Zealand Wednesday 16 April and Australia Friday 18 April, a statement from promoters Heathen Skulls has indicated that doctors have advised Grind against flying.

“As the condition has shown no improvement the medical specialists have advised Joel against travelling as he will likely need to undergo surgery to avoid any permanent damage to his hearing,” reads the statement.

“We are all saddened by the news but Joel's well-being must be given priority… Joel is extremely disappointed that he must pull out of the scheduled tour, but hopes fans will understand that by treating this condition now it will ensure he can continue performing for years to come.”

Refunds will be available from point of purchase from Wednesday 9 April.
