Drummer Paul DeMarco from iconic rock band Rose Tattoo has allegedly been arrested during police raids relating to the sale of illegal firearms this morning.

Police arrested three people during six raids in Western Sydney as search warrants were executed at six properties in Windsor, Greystanes, Londonderry, Castlereagh, St Marys and Warilla at about 6.15am.

According to Fairfax, the 55-year-old Windsor man arrested was DeMarco, who has been a drummer with Rose Tattoo since the '90s.

According to police, five firearms, cases of ammunition, illicit drugs and steroids were seized during the search warrants.

A 45-year-old Greystanes man and 43-year-old Wentworthville woman, whom Fairfax identify as Sam and Maha Ibrahim respectively, were also arrested.

“When you look at them (the weapons) you shake your head and wonder what that fire power would do if it fell into the wrong hands,” Assistant Commissioner Denis Clifford told Fairfax.

“This will no doubt put a significant dent in the organised sale of illegal firearms in Western Sydney but we are sure there are a lot more out there.”

The two arrested men were taken to Penrith Police Station and the woman to Oak Flats Police Station where they are assisting with enquiries.
