Danish progressive metal band Royal Hunt have called off their Australian tour after entering into an "11th hour" stalemate with the promoter.

With shows due to start this Wednesday 2 April in Melbourne, the promoters – Rockstar Productions – have issued a statement cancelling all shows.

“At the 11th hour a critical impasse culminated between the parties involved with the Royal Hunt tour,” it read. “This irreconcilable impasse made the tour and the shows itself untenable, as such, the tour is cancelled.

“We are disappointed in light of these events all the while remaining steadfast in the fact that we did everything to try and make the tour happen.”
