Aussie pop princess Kylie Minogue is back at the top of the Australian charts with her new record Kiss Me Once debuting in top spot this week. It's Minogue's fourth number one album in her home country and her first since 2007's X. INXS continue to sell strongly, the band led by former Minogue love interest Michael Hutchence remaining in second position with The Very Best this week,

Kate Miller-Heidke's first record as an independent artist, O Vertigo, has had a strong first week of sale, debuting at number four this week. Miller-Heidke turned to her fans to raise the funds necessary to make the record with a hugely successful PledgeMusic campaign. Prince of Dubstep Skrillex released his debut full-length without much notice at all, but fans were quick to snap it up, sending it to the number five spot on the charts in its first week of sales.

The buzz hasn't stopped for Pumped Up Kicks boys Foster The People, they released their second album last week and saw it shoot into eighth spot on the Australian charts, while British metalcore favourites Architects have scored a top 20 debut with their sixth album Lost Forever, Lost Together, enjoying 15th position on the ARIA album charts this week. Icelandic superstar Ásgeir has finally released his second album in Australia – it's been getting rave reviews the past month – and people have clearly been taking notice as In The Silence debuts in the album charts at 19 this week.

A couple of albums that streamed on theMusic.com.au last week also enjoyed some chart success in their first week of release; the stunning new record from The War On Drugs, Lost In A Dream, debuted at number 28 this week, while the gritty comeback album from The Audreys, Til My Tears Roll Away, sits in 32nd spot after a week on the shelves.

He dropped down to number three on the album charts this week, but Pharrell is still the king of the singles chart, as his song Happy spends yet another week on the top of the charts. The song is now the longest serving number one single of the decade after 11 weeks in the top spot and, if it can hold its ground for another week, it will draw level with Eminem's Lose Yourself for longest amount of time at number one this century.

Elsewhere on the singles chart, Sia's Chandelier has found a spot in the top 40, debuting at number 39 this week, and Skrillex's Recess just scrapes into the top 50 as it debuts at number 49.

The teaming up of three Aussie hip hop kingpins Horrorshow, Seth Sentry and Drapht for Nice Guys Finish Last has proven rather popular, the single dropping into the charts at number 65 this week, while hotly tipped soon-to-be Aussie visitors Glass Animals find themselves in the number 69 spot with their track Gooey. Just scraping into the charts for the first time is Gold Snafu by Sydney party dudes Sticky Fingers, it sits at number 90.

Finally, Nancy Sinatra's Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down) has appeared on the ARIA singles chart this week at number 92. The song was originally released in 1966, but thanks to the David Guetta and Skylar Grey redo of the song, which sits at number three this week, Sinatra's version has sold well this week. This just leads us to wonder how Cher feels; her ex-partner Sonny Bono wrote the song and she was the first to record and release it, a few months before Sinatra.
