It will be her fourth #1 if she gets there

More Kylie Minogue More Kylie Minogue

Kylie Minogue could be the first Australian artist to have an album debut at #1 this week as midweek figures show the local pop star is mixing it with Pharrell Williams, INXS and Katy Perry in the chart this week.

Minogue's Kiss Me Once has resonated well with her fanbase and the album release comes off her appearances at the Mardi Gras in Sydney. She previously hit #1 with 2000's Light Years, 2001's Fever and 2007's X and has had another three records peak at two.

According to midweek charts she's a little way a head of the next debut in line – Kate Miller-Heidke's O Vertigo!, which may just trouble the top ten while Foster The People's Supermodel, Skrillex's 'surprise' album Recess and George Michael's Symphonica.

The battle between the local releases is currently being lead by Morgan Evans, whose self-titled debut is tracking in the 25-35 reason. Also released this week are the Adam Eckersley Band's The First Album and Luke O'Shea's Sing You Up. Neither are currently in top 50 territory but may well be relying on stores who are only weekly reporters and therefore don't appear in the midweek figures.

Fellow locals The Audreys are currently looking at a spot between 30-40 at this stage, while The Wiggles' Hot Potato: The Best Of The Wiggles will debut in the top 50.

International releases Architects' Lost Forever and The War On Drugs' Lost In A Dream will likely appear in the 15-25 region if trends continue.

The Rolling Stones' Grrr! has sold well in anticipation of their tour (anticipation that was tragically quashed) and will move from 40 to 20, potentially, as Lana Del Rey's Born To Die: The Paradise Edition, MKTO's MKTO and Time Arena's Reset are also enjoying sales boosts.

The ARIA Singles Chart is still the domain of five-times platinum (over 450,000 copies) Happy by Pharrell Williams, with Gabrielle Aplin's The Power Of Love the big mover from 15. The Chainsmokers' #Selfie, Pitbull featuring G.R.L's Wild Wild Love and Peking Duk featuring Nicole Millar's High are the other climbers so far.

Debuts will come from Duke Dumont featuring Jax Jones's I Got U, DVBBS featuring Borgeous and Tinie Tempah's Tsunami (Jump), Calvin Harris' Summer, Little Mix's Word Up! and Zendaya's Replay.
