The book is officially launced at Melbourne's Boney this May

A new book detailling the underground music scene of Australia is set to be released next month and a number of cult artists will be on hand at the book's official launch in May.

Noise In My Head, Voices From The Ugly Australian Underground was written by author and musician Jimi Kritzler - you may know his name from bands such as Slug Guts and White Hex. It gives insight into around 50 of Australia's cult bands - all of whom were interviewed for the feature - including The Drones, Lost Animal, My Disco, Straight Arrows, HTRK and UV Race.

UV Race and HTRK's Jonnine Standish, along with Forces and New War's Chris Pugmire will all be on hand to perform at the book's launch at Melbourne's Boney venue on Thursday 1 May. Standish and Pugmire will play a DJ set together.

Noise In My Head, Voices From The Ugly Australian Underground is available next month and you can pre-order your copy via Melbourne Books.
