A week in the life of our indie artists.

ON THE ROAD

Australia's premier alt-R&B master Oscar Key Sung has announced a few dates around the country over the next couple of months as his following continues to expand.

Adelaide indie rock gem Summer Flake has released a new film clip and is using that as an excuse to get back in the van and hit the road again. She's got dates along the east coast – as well as a hometown show – planned real soon.

A Sydney launch for HTRK's forthcoming new LP has been locked in. The record is out at the end of the month and they'll be in Sydney early-May.

Aussie deathcore masters Boris The Blade are releasing their The Human Hive LP in May and will be heading around the country to turn in some brutal shows on the back of it.

Sunbeam Sound Machine leaves his Melbourne home for his first Sydney shows next week, playing a couple of dates on the quick trip.

A few dates and a new single for L-FRESH The LION have been locked in as the rapper plans to release his debut album real soon. Find the details here.

Burgeoning Aussie rapper Bam Bam will have a new EP out real soon and has recently locked in some launch dates around the country.

Sydney's Hellions will be back on the road this May, bringing Newcastle punks Trophy Eyes along for the shenanigans.

EYE ON THE CHARTS

New albums from Moog and Christie Lamb have debuted high in the independent charts this week; Moog's Kei To The City dropping in at number five in the indie distribution chart and 14 on the any distribution chart, while country singer Lamb is at three in the indie distro chart and nine factoring in all distribution with her All She Wrote.

Something I Said by Thundamentals Ft. Thom Crawford has proven to be the biggest new indie single of the week, debuting at nine in the any distribution chart and number four in the chart strictly reserved for indie distribution.

Courtney Barnett is dominating the radio play chart this week, her Avant Gardener sitting in top spot on the indie distro chart and debuting in eighth position on the chart tracking radio play for indie artists with any distribution.

True Vibenation Ft. Pukz's Dressed To Chill and Matty B's Fridays have both debuted in the top ten radio play charts for artists with independent distribution, at seven and nine respectively.

OTHER RELEASE NEWS

Melbourne's Sun God Replica – the newest vehicle for Link Meanie – released their second album last week. We premiered the film clip for Shut The Hell Up here.

It has been three years since the last Bonjah album, but the wait is almost over. The band revealed to theMusic.com.au last week that they are releasing their new one, Beautiful Wild, in April.

Before they hit the road Melbourne Ska Orchestra dropped this very cool Get Smart clip on us earlier this week. It all looks eerily familiar…

And The Good Ship took us on a seafaring voyage with their Sea Monster video.

SIGN THE DOTTED LINE

Run To Damascus have joined the I Forget, Sorry! roster of acts, joining Chance Waters and Mind Over Matter. They've also dropped their first single: all the details are here.

Aussie alt-country songwriter Lachlan Bryan has signed with ABC Music Publishing, covering his back catalogue of material – including the Golden Guitar winning Black Coffee – and future songs.

Indie dance trio Panama have inked deals with 300 Entertainment and Billions on the eve of their SxSW performances this year.
