US drag superstar RuPaul has released his sixth studio album Born Naked in America this week.

Now the star of hit reality TV drag contest RuPaul's Drag Race, RuPaul has been releasing club records since unleashing the Sex Freak EP in 1986. In the '90s, signed to Tommy Boy (at that time home to hip hop acts De La Soul, Digital Underground, Afrika Bambaata and House Of Pain), RuPaul managed a string a massive club anthems, including commercial crossover hit Supermodel (You Better Work).

With his TV show now in its seventh season, Born Naked is only his second album since starting the show. Melbourne soul singer Clairy Browne was pegged by RuPaul to duet with him on the album's title track. Browne is one of a select few collaborators on the album, alongside legendary disco diva Martha Wash and, Rupaul's heir(ess) to the drag dance queen crown, Big Freedia.

Browne recently told News Limited's Mikey Cahill that she was lucky that Rupaul "did not tell me to sashay away."

An excited Browne tweeted the collab's release this week:

The RuPaul/Browne collab is not what was expected from the pair, the track revs up into an '80s-inspired FM rock ballad - a lot like if Pat Benatar had ever jammed with REO Speedwagon.
