Their spot was "too far away" from what they were expecting.

Swedish rockers Hardcore Superstar have made an official statement about their last minute cancellation of the Soundwave dates they were to play beginning this weekend.

As expected, and revealed by the festival's AJ Maddah, it was the band's set time that was the reason for their withdrawal from the massive heavy music festival, the band claiming their allocated time was "too far away from our original agreement".

The band took to Facebook to explain the cancellation to fans.

"We are so sorry to inform you that HCSS are no longer attending Soundwave Festival 2014.

Only days before our flight, changes were made and placed HCSS in a spot that was too far away from our original agreement.

We hope to be back under other circumstances as soon as possible.

Again, We´re so sorry for this.

Yesterday AJ Maddah said the band were threatening to pull out if their set time fell before 4pm.

No such explanation has been forthcoming from Jason Newsted about his shock comments yesterday that seemed to indicate his band Newsted had also withdrawn from the event.
