Big news for fans of classic Australian rock music has been announced today, as the legendary Mondo Rock confirm they are getting back into the swing of things with a national tour set to take place this June.

Sure it might have only been a measly 24 years since the hugely successful 1980s rockers embarked on a full scale tour of Australia, but this tour will see the classic line up of the band, featuring Ross Wilson, Eric McCusker, James Black, Paul Christie and Gil Matthews, playing shows for the first time since way back in 1981.

They are getting back together in support of the 33rd anniversary of the release of their classic album Chemistry, a record known best thanks to hits such as State Of The Heart (which went on to become a big Stateside hit for Rick Springfield), Cool World, the title track and Summer Of '81. The record is being reissued through Aztec Records and will be available on Friday 2 May, but you can grab the remastered tracks on iTunes now if you're that way inclined.

The band will play Chemistry in full for part of the two hour show, followed by a bit of a highlights package from the rest of the band's career.

Dates are in theGuide below and tickets are on sale from Friday morning.
