Built On Glass out April

More Chet Faker More Chet Faker

Melbourne indie-electro songwriter and producer Chet Faker has signed with breakout Sydney indie label Future Classic for the release of his debut album Built On Glass.

Today Future Classic founder Nathan McLay confirmed to theMusic.com.au that they had signed the highly regarded artist – real name Nick Murphy – to the recording arm of their business ahead of the release of his anticipated full length. The deal comes after Future Classic released Faker's split EP with Flume, Lockjaw, late last year. The music company is home to Flume's management, booking, publishing and releases.

The deal will see Built On Glass released Friday 11 April through Faker's own label Opulent and Future Classic.

Prior to the split EP Faker's EP Thinking In Textures – which featured his cover of No Diggity – was released in 2012 through Opulent/Remote Control.

Pre-orders for the record are now open here.

After a barnstorming year in 2013 largely thanks to Flume's success, Future Classic have looked to expand their offering, buying into boutique touring company Brown Bear Entertainment last December.

Chet Faker is booked in Australia by Artist Voice.
