It's a three-way battle

More The Jezabels More The Jezabels

Sydney atmospheric indie band The Jezabels are well and truly in the hunt for a number one album this week, with their record The Brink in the middle of a three-way battle to the top.

The Laneway headliners are having to contend with one of their festival mates Lorde, whose album Pure Heroine is threatening to return to the top spot in what will be its 19th week on the chart. The other release in the mix is the debut album from American hip pop duo MKTO, whose self-titled record is slightly ahead of The Brink according to the midweek figures.

The three-way race is too tight to call at this stage and the number one spot will likely be decided by purchases made in the final days before the end of the chart period on Friday night.

Released through indie label MGM, The Jezabels will be hoping to go one better than their 2012 debut record Prisoner, which managed two on the ARIA Album Charts.

With the INXS mini-series set to premiere this weekend, their The Very Best is enjoying a sales boost and if the momentum continues could sneak into the top five. Laneway's Chvrches are the other obvious mover in the midweek figures with The Bones Of What You Believe.

Other albums set to debut in the top 50 this week include You Me At Six's Cavalier Youth, Dolly Parton's Blue Smoke, Within Temptation's Hydra, Sky Ferreira's Night Time and Broods' self-titled EP.

In the ARIA Singles Chart Avicii's Addicted To You will push into the top ten from its current position of 11, while the midweeks are also showing strong scans for Rihanna's Jump, Shakira featuring Rihanna's Can't Remember To Forget You, Beyoncé featuring Jay-Z's Drunk In Love, Bliss N Eso featuring Ceekay Jones My Life, Cash Cash featuring Bebe Rexha's Take Me Home and American Authors' Best Day Of My Life.

Top 50 debuts are expected from Eminem featuring Nate Ruess' Headlights, Sara Bareilles' Brave and Kylie Minogue's Into The Blue.
