PREMIERE: Hear Tom E. Lewis' Tales From A Life Beneath The Sun

A great record from a fascinating character.

The career of Tom E. Lewis has been a very varied one; he has spent most of his time as an actor, but did tour the world at one stage with the kinda folk-jazz inclined Lewis and Dunn Ensemble. His new album Beneath The Sun is a completely different proposition though, a seriously accomplished set of songs performed with a brilliant band behind him that sounds utterly timeless.

We're pleased to be streaming the new album all week long; even if you're not familiar with him, we strongly recommend you give it a go. Have a listen here.

Produced by Skinnyfish Music's Michael Hohnen and featuring appearances from Ross Hannaford, Tony Floyd, Stephen Takle, Craig Pilkington and Hohnen himself. It's a set of amazing stories sung by a man who you just know has plenty more of them to tell.

A cover of Australian Crawl's Reckless, a tribute to JJ Cale (That Girl) a story about a man who kills his wife and puts her in the freezer (I Can't Make It On My Own) and the story of his complex relationship with his home community in the Northern Territory (Can't Change Your Name) are among the amazing tracks on this great Australian album.
