While most of the talk out of this weekend's Hottest 100 countdown has obviously been Melbourne muso Vance Joy's triumph with his hit Riptide coming in at number one, there are several other Aussies who featured in the list that we reckon you ought to have your head around too. Get familiar - if you're not already - with these names:

The Kite String Tangle

Brisbane-based Danny Harley, best known as The Kite String Tangle, scored a pretty impressive position in the countdown with his beat-laced, ambient-chilled anthem Given The Chance in at 19. He's got the whole bedroom-producer thing down pat, but with a dark vocal element that could be a blend of James Blake and Chet Faker. Harley's playing a run of shows next month so go see what all the fuss is about for yourselves.

Touch Sensitive

The Future Classic alum produced one of the most chilled out numbers of the year in Pizza Guy, which ranked 38 in the countdown. Another example in the ever-thriving producer scene that has emerged locally over the past few years, Touch Sensitive aka Michael Di Francesco could very easily become a festival staple here over the next twelve months – he was solid as a rock at the recent Listen Out series this past September.

Dustin Tebbutt

This indie singer-songwriter scored his placing in the 100 with The Breach in at 44. The simple and sincere song showcased why Tebbutt has a big future in the business and why he was a stand-out during the recent Boy & Bear tour that he supported on. He made plenty of fans in 2013, including one-time Gotye, Silverchair and Cold Chisel mentor John Watson, who signed Tebbutt to his management roster in September.

SAFIA

Another outfit combining smooth beats with emotive vocals, SAFIA made their mark in the list with Listen To Soul, Listen To Blues. These ACT fellas impressed during the ARIA Week celebrations late last year and you'll be able to see more of their talents on the road over the coming weeks alongside Sydney electro songstress Elizabeth Rose. Panama

Rounding out this list is Panama, a bunch of Sydney boys who scored the 80th spot in the 100 with their electro-pop track Always, off their sophomore EP of the same name. These guys have been gradually building since they formed in 2011, playing a plethora of live shows and festivals since. Another name under the bright Future Classic banner.
