Sydney and Melbourne dates for the three kick arse metal bands.

More Megadeth More Megadeth

If you like metal then there's a good chance you like Soundwave. And if you like Soundwave then you're probably hoping to get an extra dose of some of your favourite acts through sideshows in more intimate environs.

Well classic rock and metal fans are in for a real treat with the line up that has been assembled for this particular Sidewave as Megadeth, Newsted and Volbeat all appear on the one bill for a big old fashioned night of thrash and rock'n'roll.

The only thing we feel we need to say about Megadeth is that they are genuinely still an excellent live band. Their past few Australian tours have proven that they haven't lost any touch while living up to the lofty expectations their brilliant back catalogue has set up for them.

No room for washed up has-beens here, they are a fiercely exciting thrash band, just as they have been since their formation over 30 years ago after Dave Mustaine left Metallica.

Danish rockabilly crazies Volbeat have a live show that brings together their disparate influences into one very entertaining set of music. They love Johnny Cash as much as they love Pantera and it shows in their unique brand of heavy rock music.

Rounding out the bill is the new project from another former Metallica member, bassist Jason Newsted, called Newsted, and it mines some very heavy, very groovy territory. Their debut LP Heavy Metal Music dropped last year and it was good to have the man back on the stereo after a couple of years in the wilderness.

All three of these great bands will play the following shows while in Australia.
